Directly east across Loch Broom from The Studio Hoose, the foothills rise gently to reveal the drama of Beinn Dearg and Easter Ross. This area is easily accessible off the A835 with a myriad of walks that could bag you four Munros, or simply head up out of the forest and discover small lochans surrounded by panoramic views of the cliffs and peaks.
Heading away from Ullapool, back towards Inverness and only a few miles along the A835, The Corrieshalloch Gorge is a must. Translating as Ugly Hollow in Gaelic, this stunning environment is a tremendous opportunity to see and feel the force of the River Broom as it drops over 60 metres before flowing into Loch Broom.
Further afield, the area north of Ullapool is Coigach and Assynt, a truly unique and awe inspiring landscape of spectacular mountains and lochs –wild, remote, isolated, atmospheric – memorable in so many ways.
