We have built an inspiring home and work space, Taigh a Chnuic, (House on the Hill) and created Studio Hoose, a beautiful self-contained holiday accommodation nestled a little further up our croft. We bring the same energy and attention to detail to our latest venture – Tree Hoose, positioned in woodland on the hillside above and behind Studio Hoose, will be available for bookings from Spring 2020.
The concept which will be submitted for planning later this month is contemporary in its design and consistent in its external appearance with our Taigh a Chnuic and Studio Hoose, in that it will have large viewing windows with elevated panaramic views of Loch Broom, Bein Dearg our local munro and the night skies viewed through large rooflights.
The Tree Hoose will comprise luxury accommodation for 2 adults and be elevated approx 4m into the existing tree canopy. Our ambition at the start is that it will be principally off grid with power and lighting and mains water.
The procurement will involve the off-site construction of the accommodation pods in the south of Scotland during early 2020, during which time the steel supporting structure will be installed on-site ready to receive the superstructure accommodation. The accommodation pods will be transported by road and temporarily deposited at Clachan 3km away. These will then be helicoptered from Clachan to our prepared site in our woodland above the Studio Hoose in late March 2020. The pods will be individually lowered onto a steel decked platform and secured in succession with the infrastructure, fitting out, furnishings and onsite services connections completed within 1.5 weeks ready for self-catered letting in April 2020.
The ‘Tree Hoose’ project, the culmination of our original development plan, has been in gestation since 2015 and considerable thought has gone into its design in order to minimise the impact on the existing woodland understory.
All site preparation, extended access paths/steps and bridges over the burn will be completed in the Autumn of this year.
Please note that the Studio Hoose and the Tree Hoose are pet free zones.
